Canyon Crest Academy girls track team sets record at Arcadia

During spring break, Canyon Crest Academy track and field female athletes went to the Arcadia Invitational to compete against the nation’s best athletes. The distance medley relay team — L-R, Kira Loren, Corrine Chapkis, Kelly Bernd and Kragen Metz — finished seventh overall and set a new school record. The girls’ 12:10 time for 2.5 miles is the 11th fastest run in the nation this year. In the distance medley relay, the first person runs 1200m (three laps), second person 400m (one lap), third person 800m (two laps), and the fourth person 1600m (four laps, one mile). Kelly ran her mile in 4:52.
